Colon is the only organ of all the vital organs in the body that suffers the most abuse from modern habits. When stress, chemicals, drugs, and diet irritate the colon, it starts to produce more mucus to protect itself. This mucus ties with food left-over and builds up on the wall of the bowel, narrowing the lumen. This poisonous residue causes irritation and inflammation of the colon, leading to chronic ill health. This leads to toxins circulating through the blood and the lymphatic system to all organs.

The colon muscles lose their tone and form pouches called diverticula, leading to a condition known as diverticulosis. The food entrapped in these pouches fester into an ancestry ground for bacteria. Patients experience diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, joint pains and headaches.

Patients afflicted with this disease are often recommended to colon cleansing. Colon irrigation or colon hydrotherapy is an alternative therapy used to maintain, cleanse and restore the colon to optimum health. Colon treatment involves the use of low-pressure water introduced into the colon and administered in the presence of a qualified colon therapist.

Colon irrigation involves the insertion of a sterile tube into the rectum through which filtered water is passed. It washes out the colon and the mucus is withdrawn with the help of an evacuation tube. This is followed by a diet of 50 percent raw food along with a teaspoonful of linseed or Metamucil at meals. To become fully cleansed the colon can take up to three months, using this form of treatment.

Colon hydrotherapy cleanse encourages the restoration of the colon’s natural function and is not addictive in nature. A session of colon hydrotherapy lasts approximately 45 minutes, during which 25 to 35 gallons of water is transported into and out of the colon. After the process, noticeable changes in the appearances of the skin and eyes take place, digestion improves and a person also becomes energetic once again.

Therapists also suggest to take herbal colon cleanse preparations, they help the body to remove toxins and therefore to reduce the time of colon cleansing.

I have to tell you my experience with Bowtrol…not good. I was really disappointed…and I really gave it a chance.

I had this adverse reaction to Bowltrol. I have IBS, and basically I’ve felt like I’ve had the flu for the past three days, I had to miss work and my body was sore and achey all over. That was the probably the worst part. The aches. I felt like I was ninety (and I’m 27, so this wasn’t normal).

I’m still having to take my every 30 minute bathroom trip, but at least I’m not falling over dead like I was yesterday.

My diet has overall always been healthy. I’ve been eating fruit and veggies, fiber, and drinking lots of water…but I’ve had to stop doing that all together, and I haven’t been able to eat for two days. I’ve only been able to drink juice and water.

I stopped taking the supplement yesterday because I (physically) couldn’t any more…but I’m still having a problem probably because it’s still in my system. This morning I walked up the hill less than three blocks to the bus and I couldn’t even make it that far. I had to stop in a coffee shop to use their restroom.

I really gave it a chance, but gave up after I researched two of it’s ingredients: Senna and Cascara Sagrada. You’re not supposed to take Senna for more than a week, even though the website says you can take it as long as you want. That’s not a true or reliable statement.
